Portfolio of Photoshoots with Child Models with Disabilities, Vol. 1 – Team Scheat
We received an offer for child models with disabilities from a trampoline school in Saitama Prefecture.
Hello, this is Miki Uchiki from Hanahiraku.
Our memorable first photoshoot took place on July 22, 2021. We received a request from “Team Sheato,” a trampoline school in Niiza City, Saitama Prefecture, which offers classes for children with disabilities and their siblings, to arrange a photoshoot with child models with disabilities. Three models took on their very first photoshoot experience!
The models on this day were Sumire, Rikuto, and Takeru.
For all three, it was a day of firsts—their first time in this location, meeting new people, and participating in a photoshoot. Yet, they showed no signs of nervousness. Their eyes sparkled with excitement as they focused on the trampoline right in front of them.
Each took turns bouncing for 30 seconds, adhering to the rules and order without any trouble, and jumped with pure joy—bounce after bounce!
The unique charm of child models with disabilities lies in their unaffected, honest enjoyment. They don’t worry about how they look on camera or try to look cute or cool; they simply are, wholeheartedly embracing the moment.
On this day, too, we captured their genuine joy and laughter.
I feel that, as adults, we often expect too much “maturity” from children. But even if they’re models, they’re still children. It’s okay for them to just be their natural, childlike selves.
If you’re a company looking to feature the natural, authentic essence of children in your advertising, consider working with child models with disabilities.
